Little things you need to know about El Nido, Palawan

El Nido is a first class municipality of Palawan.  It is located 238 kilometers northeast of Puerto Prinsesa.  According to CNNGo, it is the Best Beach and Island Destination in the Philippines for its extraordinary natural splendor and ecosystem.

I can't help but to keep talking about El Nido to my friends for days because my goodness, the place was so surreal!!! This is my dream vacation and destination and will sure be coming back in two years.  I even want to buy a little lot here even for 10 square meters just to build my studio type room, haha!

El Nido has a private airport to cater the El Nido guests.  Island Transvoyager Inc (ITI) flies with a 50-seater ATR plane three (3) times a day from Manila but the airfare is too costly.  We took the Cebu Pacific flight from Puerto Prinsesa and booked with Servant Tours (celphone number 0915-4157245) the van from Puerto Prinsesa to El Nido and vice versa.  Van Transportation costs Php500/person, one way.  The van only took 5 hours to travel while the public buses will take you here for seven hours.

After purchasing your airfare to Puerto Prinsesa from Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines or Air Asia, you've only got a few bucks to spend.  Don't worry coz my brother-in-law's Php7,000 (USD150) was so enough to tour Tours A on the 1st day, Nacpan and Calitang Beach on the second day, Tour C on the third day and did the rock climbing at Mount Taraw Cliff on the fourth day.  His room was Php500/night and spent Php1,000 for a van/person for a Puerto Prinsesa-El Nido van fare.

There's grocery stores, carinderias, a bakery, shops, restaurants in Poblacion. So if you're on a budget, you can always depend on these kinds of establishments.

one of the two ATM's in El Nido dispensing Php2,000 ONLY per transaction
As of our last visit in November 2015, there's an RCBC ATM in El Nido with only Php2,000 dispense per transaction.  Bring a lot of cash because the ATM here may not be available all the time.  Credit cards are acceptable in some restaurants and stores with 5 to 10% charge.

Enjoy your vacation!
