Dingalan, Aurora : Tabi Falls

Dingalan is geographically located at the southernmost part of Aurora making it "Aurora's Southeast Paradise".  It has a mountainous terrain where Sierra Madre lies.  The vast mountain range are the source of rivers, streams and waterfalls.

After our lunch at Sea Ranch in Brgy. Cabog (Matawe), we proceeded to Sitio Tabi in Brgy. Umiray, Dingalan.  Brgy. Umiray was named after the Umiray River.  It is located 24 kilometers south of Dingalan Proper.  Brgy Umiray alone has an area of 10,970 hectares making it the largest barangay in Dingalan.  The roads are hilly to mountainous and only 20% of the total area is flat to rolling.  (source :  http://www.dingalanlgu.gov.ph/?page=home)

We just park our service vehicle to a house owned by  Julius IbaƱez.  We hiked for 30 to 45 minutes in reaching Tabi Falls.  It's quite difficult to reach the falls because some of the soils are so wet and slippery, the mini roads are sloping upwards and we are actually climbing up the roads.  Good thing we are with a lot of boys, my kids have guides in crossing these roads. Boss Deo paid Php500 for the guide good for all of us...

wonderful scenery along the way

getting in touch with nature! I just love it!

sipping milk while hiking...

I can smell it already, hahaha =)

A large piece of rock fell on my leg just to save daddy carrying baby James who went out of balance...A souvenir bruise with blood was okay for me, the memories will last forever and that is more important.

after the 300 calorie burning out of fat and a bunch of sweat, this is what we saw...

that's why you need a guide, a lot of bayawak along the way

Dingalan, Aurora : Sea Ranch in Brgy. Cabog (Matawe)

Dingalan, Aurora was unknown to us, until we were invited by my former boss, kumpare and friend Deo Silverio. We slept in his home in Cabanatuan City on a Friday night, and when the sun rose, we proceeded at once in Dingalan.

Dingalan is approximately 60 kilometers from Cabanatuan City.  Dingalan has a mountainous and rugged terrain but despite of this, it is accessible by bus, jeepneys and private cars.

Our first destination was Tanawan Viewdeck and Tanawan Falls. And after Tanawan, we continued our Dingalan exploration in Brgy. Cabog (Matawe).

We stopped at a talipapa near Sea Ranch, boss Deo bought fresh catch fishes and some ingredients for our lunch.  Ang sarap kasama ni boss, may bitbit na tagaluto, hehe =)

Sea Ranch was once a tourist destination but was closed in 1980's and then handed over to the Matawe Cooperative after falling into the coverage of CARP.  But now that the place is regaining its beauty, the tourists are coming back again...If you want some peace and quiet, then Dingalan is for you...

Dingalan has been dubbed as Aurora's Southeast Paradise...

Dingalan, Aurora : Tanawan Viewdeck and Tanawan Falls

Dingalan is a fourth class municipality in the Province of Aurora.  Formerly just a barrio but was created as a municipal district within the municipality of Baler in 1956. It was declared a town in 1962.

Dingalan is situated approximately 183 kilometres (114 mi) northeast of Manila. It is bounded on the north by San Luis (in Aurora province), on the west by Gabaldon and General Tinio (Nuva Ecija) and DoƱa Remedios Trinidad (Bulacan), on the south by General Nakar (Quezon), and on the east by the Pacific Ocean. (source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingalan,_Aurora)

We were invited by my youngest son's ninong Deo Silverio. We traveled here via private vehicle but if you're traveling using a public transportation, make your way in going to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.  There are a lot of Cabanatuan bound buses stationed at Cubao. From Cabanatuan, ride a bus bound to Tanawan, travel time 2 hours and 10 minutes, 60 kilometers from Cabanatuan City.

Our first destination, Tanawan Viewdeck and Tanawan Falls...

Tanawan viewdeck offers a panoramic view of the natural harbor of Dingalan Bay as it merges with the Pacific Ocean.

Upon reaching Tanawan Viewdeck, turn left...An ordinary vehicle cannot pass thru the rocky sloping upwards of the road in going to the falls.  It is best to hike going to Tanawan Falls.
