Exploring Ximending
Your trip to Taipei won't be complete without a visit to Ximending. It has been called the "Harajuku" of Taipei. The local bookstores sell Japanese magazines, books, CD albums, and clothing , making it a haven for the "Harizu", or Japanese culture
adorers.
Individual vendors gather in the streets as well as the large business
buildings, such as Wannien Department Store and Shizilin Square during
the day, and Wanguo Department Store and Eslite 116 later at night.
Due to the density of young people, Ximending is comparable to Shilin Night Market and the Eastern District to be areas with the highest crime rates. In addition, Ximending is well known for student prostitution.

How to get to Ximending?
Ximending is connected to blue and green lines of Taipei's Metro Rail Transit. We visited Ximending twice in our Taiwan vacation because just staying at the place feast your eyes to different activities of people around the area, there are also some street shows. There are a lot of cheap but yummy food around Ximending.

The Ximending Pedestrian Area is named after the administrative division Seimon-chō (西門町), which existed during Japanese rule,
referring to an area outside the west gate of the city. The area of
Seimon-chō included modern-day Chengdu Road (成都路), Xining South Road
(西寧南路), Kunming Street (昆明街), and Kangding Road (康定路). However, today
the Ximending Pedestrian Area not only includes Seimon-chō but also
Wakatake-chō (若竹町) and Shinki-chō (新起町). The historical spelling of
this area was Hsimenting, which is based on the Wade-Giles romanization of Standard Chinese. The use of the character chō (町) is unusual in a Chinese context: it denotes a cho (a part of a ward) in the Japanese municipality system.

We purchased our happy ticket last May 2019 online priced at 699pesos only and that includes whole day access to Mactan Beach, the pink pool, pink bali lounge, floating zoo and animal cabanas, water babies show, and fire dance show. We also reserved a daybed priced at 1500pesos that already includes of course the day bed, 4 towels and snacks.

Osmena Peak, Dalaguete, Cebu 1013 MASL

After our encounter with the whaleshark and spending a night in Oslob, we woke up so early to get to Dalaguete and climb this minor mountain with our 1 year old Julia. If only we have enough time and not carrying our heavy backpacks, we will traverse to Kawasan falls which will take four to five hours to get to the area. It is our first mountain after giving birth to baby Julia. We have rested more than enough time and really missed going to summits with our kids.
There is a 30pesos entrance fee and a required guide fee of 150pesos per group at the Tourism Center/Hiker's Center. Do not feel wasted of your 150pesos though you can really see the trail going up. Let us help this young men in financing their daily needs. He will be your photographer up there and you will get quality pictures when you are with a guide. Once on top, breath taking views awaits you!

How to get here?
From Cebu City take a bus bound to Oslob at South terminal. Tell the conductor to drop you off at Dalaguete junction. There are 7-11 and Julie's bakeshop fronting each other.
From Dalaguete Highway, we hired three habal habal for the 7 of us (incuding baby Julia). Travel time is 25 to 30 minutes. Fare is 200pesos per person roundtrip. The driver will wait for you at the foot of Osmena Peak.
