Taipei 101
Its elevators, capable of traveling 60.6 km/hour and used to transport passengers from the 5th to 89th floor in 37 seconds, set new records upon completion. In 2011 Taipei 101 received a platinum rating under the LEED certification system to become the tallest and largest green building in the world. The structure regularly appears as an icon of Taipei in international media, and the Taipei 101 fireworks displays are a regular feature of New Years's Eve broadcasts.
Taipei 101's design incorporates a number of features that enable the structure to withstand the pacific ring of fire's earthquakes and the regions's tropical storms.
Taipei 101 is owned by Taipei Finacial Center Corporation. The skyscraper opened on December 31, 2004 in time of celebration of New Years's eve.
Taipei 101 Observatory is located at the 89th floor (indoor observation deck). Outdoor observation deck is at the 91st floor. The admission fee for the Taipei 101 Observatory is NT$600. Visit this place on a sunny day to capture great view of the city.

Take the MRT Red Line (Xin-Yi Line) to Taipei 101 station and exit #4 or the Blue Line (Bannan Line) to Taipei City Hall Station then walk South to enter the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Complex (Xin-Yi Shopping District) towards Taipei 101.

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall
The National Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is a memorial to the Republic of China's National Father, Dr. Sun Yat Sen. Taiwan's government began the construction in 1964 and was completed in 1972. The total building area covers 29,464 square meters in an open space of 115,000 square meters. It contain displays of Sun's life and the revolution he led, and is also a multi-purpose social, educational and cultural center for the public.
The main entrance to the hall contains a statue of Sun Yat Sen. Every hour there is a formal changing of the guards, which is a popular tourist attraction. The building also includes a performance hall, an exhibition center of about 1,000 square meters, a multi media theater, an audio-visual center, lecture halls, and a library with over 300,000 books.

The National Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall may not look inviting to tour around but this is worth a visit. Additionally it has a great view of Taipei 101 that was set in a beautiful park full of flowers. The surrounding garden looks peaceful and relaxing.
The memorial hall is exactly located at Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is easily accessible through LRT Blue Line (5 stations away from Taipei Main Station). It is also a few minutes walk from the famous Taipei 101.
Admission is free.
