The Little "Anawangin" of Bataan, Stella Mariz Resort

It was a long weekend so the family planned to take a sip of fresh air outside our usual bedroom.  The place that we planned to go is a beach where we can spend a night and camp.  We brought our cookset, tents, sleeping bags, a foldable table, foldable chairs, hammocks, and lots of food including a cake for an advance celebration of mother’s day.

How to get to Stella Mariz Beach Resort, Bagac, Bataan?

By commuting, Genesis and Bataan Transit in Cubao transports people to Balanga, Bataan (bus fare Php202) and from there transfer to the Common Terminal and there will be mini buses that will take you to Bagac, Bataan.  From the Fil-Am Friendship Tower, there will be trikes that can take you to Stella Mariz Resort.

Why we got hooked at Stella Mariz?
We love Anawangin so much so we are looking for that Anawangin ambiance but much closer to us.  The better deal is that you don't have to cross the sea just to be here.  The entrance fee is also minimal.  We only spent Php100/person for an overnight stay. We also have parked our vehicle near our tents.

When you walk for around a kilometer going to the left, there's this place which can be great for photo shooting.  My kids already know what to do when I tell them that it's picture taking time.  This is one of the reasons why you go a place.  So some people might also see the beauty of unknown locations.

The beach can be simple but we can always make great pictures from ordinary places...

From Stella Mariz, try walking for over a kilometer going to the left and you will arrive here...

There are boats that can be rented here at Php1,200 per trip, maximum of 12 persons.  The rented boats can take you to Playa de Caleta, a virgin resort along the shores of Morong, Bataan.  There's no electricity and celphone signal in this remote island. The tour also includes a trip to Caragman Cove which is only 10 minutes boat ride away.  There's also a nearby Biga Cove and a privately owned Velasco Pink Beach.
